#44: Tennis

Never have it covered
Always late to the parade
It’s always passing by
All those dreamers up there
Take the serve and slam that
Tennis ball winning is in the long haul

Give yourself one last chance to
Never wish again
It can’t be a wishing well
Where you dwell or just about
Trying to avoid Hell
What kind of flames do you love?
What kind of love causes a flame?
What kind of life do you want
Where is your life without any want?

I drove you down there
To tennis practice
Skipped the dentist to get
You to smile less
And focus more
Gave you the bounciest balls
I could find
Wasted all your time living
My dream through you

Now we are not young
And life has just begun
I’m asking for the tennis
Court again
I’m asking for you again
