Pantry

What is so great about saying up late?

Cause all I ate,

Was to hesitate,

You had that empty pantry,

Less of a sundry,

More loads of laundry,

You let that mess pile up,

You raised us never to be

Grown up,

I had life and death,

It chased me to,

Older was a curse that

I could not put away,

Or speak away,

But life came anyway!

I was the one you wanted,

I was hollow,

I was the swallow,

The death,

The tomb,

The room that made me live,

I love Easter,

Don’t you?

Cause now you are reminded,

How little power you had,

How little love you wanted,

How stones rolled,

Left and right,

That garden man

He didn’t get it right.
