Fallout Review

No not another gamer review! Ha ha Fallout 4 is way outdated coming from someone who makes fun of gamers. You know me on here. I like and love films.

Mission Impossible Review. I did attempt a review at Ghost Protocol back in 2011 when I was taking more time to try to write movie reviews. I still do. Just not on here. Ha ha.

It is a Saturday morning. I am peacefully trying out new places of coffee in La Verne( My home). When I am here. I love it. I was traveling all week * like most weeks.

And here I come home. Here’s the real review from the latest of those critics:

” When Fallout begins, Ethan is on his own in Belfast, brought back into the IMF fold when he learns that his still-living nemesis Solomon Lane (Sean Harris) has influenced a group of disavowed agents known as the Apostles to try and wreak anarchy upon the world by detonating a trio of nuclear weapons. Ethan then works with his IMF cohorts along with the enigmatic MI6 agent Ilsa Faust (Rebecca Ferguson) and a mysterious CIA agent named August Walker (Henry Cavill) to stop the Apostles at all costs. The plot, as is often the case in Mission: Impossible movies, isn’t intricately detailed because it doesn’t need to be; instead, it partially functions as a clothesline on which to hang an impressive amount of jaw-dropping, relentless action sequences..”(Find this at https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/mission-impossible-fallout-is-dark-knight-series-1130069)

I feel like I had this thought at least a decade ago..and since then it has been developing. One man cannot change the world. One conversation with one very influential person in my life( at the moment of talking about movies). This person made a connection between the film Chinatown( 1974) and how in that film( and in that era) the one man army didn’t work. One man( J.J. Gittes) can’t change the corrupt system of Los Angeles politics…

But now films have evolved with the hero being the only hero in the midst of the complexities that follow with working with others, or in most cases, being notorious for not working with anyone. Jason Bourne and Jack Bauer being my two favorite references to one man leaving Chinatown behind and taking down the system by themselves.

Mission Impossible is one franchise that has gotten better and better with each new installment. I still like wearing my to tight muscle shirts to be Vin Diesal in Fast and Furious but nothing compares to all that these Mission Impossible films bring.

My review of this film is no review in the way you would read a breakdown…it is just to much fun and to well done not to see.

Tom-Cruise-Mission-Impossible

Are these movies closer to real life events possibly taking place? Do we feel like impossible is trite or hackneyed, just like the other words you are sick of hearing?

Ilsa shows up in Paris and says, ” You must be new.” She says this in response to August Walker’s, ” Hope is not a strategy.”

I think we don’t have to understand the dynamics of the government doing crazy things to keep us safe. We all know we don’t get it all and in other genres of this ” hero” saving the world those lines are beyond blurred because the greater good is the mission( no matter the cost).

I appreciate that we will never know for sure and that this is just a movie. But for me I have never viewed movies as always a waste of space..or a waste of time..or solely for the reason of getting my stress out. I never walk away without taking notes. It drives me crazy too because If I blogged it all you would hear a lot. I love stories.

Go see this movie..
